Anyone remember the old Armorcast buildings? I put some paint on a few to be used in a variety of games. I forgot how nice these buildings are given that they are pretty simple designs.

I loved these kits. One of my biggest hobby regrets is selling the large collection of them I had to pay for other projects. At the time, they were too "generic" for the historical gaming I was doing. Now that I am getting back into sci fi (40k) and other stuff, I wish I had kept them. The ruined versions of them are great too, and I still have a lot of them that I still use. Armorcast has a ton of great stuff in their catalog.

Very nice! I always keep an eye out for these on ebay, but haven't got lucky yet…

Not to be a downer but, well, they're kinda . . . meh, honestly. I look at them and I think "foamcore, ruler, spackle, and textured spray paint, plus the odd accessory from various manufacturers to liven them up." Not dishing on Armorcast – I've seen much loveliness from them – but those buildings are kinda blah.

@Richard: True these are really nothing special, but the design has been around for quite a while. Back in the day, these were pretty impressive.

Yes, I could make these (or something very close) without a ton of work, we don't all have a ton of time to commit or our time is committed elsewhere. Sometimes it is worth dropping a few bucks on a basic design. And in fairness, my paint job does nothing to showcase the models.

Having said that, I agree there are fancier options available and some are downright impressive.

I like them, used to get a bunch of their stuff at GenCon when it was in Milwaukee. I can make it now but I'm probably going to order a few more bits from them.
