Hello everybody
I would like to take the opportunity to show some of
Flytrap Factorys new "Lawfighter: Riot" pre-release pics.

This 15mm range will be launching officially in the next 6-8 weeks (through Flytrap Factory and Zombiesmith)…

This is the first of 4 completed waves that will fulfill the range. Note the use of proxy vehicles in the pics (I hope that you don't mind… they are used without permission until our own versions are finalized and are officially released)

An official announcement will be made as the painted pics come to hand and we reach our scheduled release date.
Thanks for looking!

Kind regards

Hmmm, someone has suspiciously good timing…………

If I were a conspiracy theorist, I'd suspect……….

Baron Trapdoor19 Aug 2014 3:46 p.m. PST

Can you elaborate Mako11?

Redroom19 Aug 2014 3:54 p.m. PST

The rioters would make some good normal civilians too

darthfozzywig19 Aug 2014 4:12 p.m. PST

I'd say bad timing, myself.

Baron Trapdoor19 Aug 2014 4:21 p.m. PST

Yeah it was a concern for me Darthfozzywig.
These guys had been sitting on the bench for the best part of a year now, and each time we thought "hmmm lets release them now" something else would spark international attention to the controversial events going on around the world (seems to now be a weekly occurrance)… persuading us not to. We have just gotten to a point where we have decided against likely better judgement, to bite the proverbial bullet and roll with the release.

Mako1119 Aug 2014 4:50 p.m. PST

It was meant as a joke, TEBT.

I suspect a lot of people will find a use for them. Perhaps even by those doing real-world, what-if, planning.

Baron Trapdoor19 Aug 2014 4:55 p.m. PST

:)

Sorry Mako, I just know it can be a touchy subject matter at best… at present…I did not want to offend or put people out unnecessarily is all .

Cheers
Anton

I go with timely. I was thinking to do – civil unrest events are rapidly becoming the mostly likely event for 'ultra-modern' gaming.

Now I could just get them in 25-28mm…

Mako1119 Aug 2014 5:55 p.m. PST

No worries, TEBT.

Yes, G Dog, the US Marines, Army, etc. are now pretty much geared to that as well, in urban settings, since most populations now live in built-up areas, within 60 – 100 miles, or less of a major coastline.

Bellbottom20 Aug 2014 7:02 a.m. PST

Baron, what happened to the Warfighter range, has it died the death, or just gone into suspended animation.?

haywire20 Aug 2014 8:07 a.m. PST

market the rioters as Westboro Church and the cops as zombie cops and you are all set.

Grimmnar20 Aug 2014 10:38 a.m. PST

Cant the zombies be former WBC members instead?

Lion in the Stars20 Aug 2014 11:26 a.m. PST

Metal castings, I assume?

Put me down for some of these, and let me second the request for 28mm rioters, protesters, and even some going-about-their-business civilians.

Baron Trapdoor20 Aug 2014 1:24 p.m. PST

@ Lion in the Stars… Yes to metal castings :)

@ Jarrovian, the Warfighter range is still very much alive and well, we are just working through a backlog of releases before we get back to the new wave.

Re the Zombies request, our next bunch of civilians are armed and engaged with smart phones…does that count?

Cheers

capt jimmi20 Aug 2014 9:23 p.m. PST

Nice one Anton!

Very, very, very, cool idea !

Are journalists/TV crew (and van?) on the 'table ?

Maybe even firefighters/paramedics(and vehicles?)

Baron Trapdoor21 Aug 2014 3:54 a.m. PST

Hi Jimmi
Yeah we have 4 waves planned for this range, most of which are in stages of moulding and casting at present. We will be rounding out this range to incorporate all of the usual suspects. At this stage we do not anticipate firefighters (Rebel Minis does those nice ones) or Paramedics, but we will see how the range rolls before crossing any possibilities off of the list.

Cheers
Anton

CLDecker21 Aug 2014 3:49 p.m. PST

Used to be a snatch team or two behind the first line to ID and isolate the agitators. yeah, been to a riot or two in my time.

Baron Trapdoor21 Aug 2014 5:48 p.m. PST

Yup, normally a couple of echelons of riot cops and an arresting team in the middle to quickly process the demonstrators that were "allowed" entry through the line

Lion in the Stars21 Aug 2014 6:54 p.m. PST

Re the Zombies request, our next bunch of civilians are armed and engaged with smart phones…does that count?
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!

Weasel22 Aug 2014 10:57 a.m. PST

Not a lot of interest in riots but they'd be handy figures for a lot of gaming and make suitable bad guys for the resistance in anarchist revolt scenarios.

Patrice22 Aug 2014 12:42 p.m. PST

Most of these look like peaceful protesters :)
(…and that could give more interest to a scenario)

Weasel23 Aug 2014 9:30 p.m. PST

You'd need some "agent provocateurs" too. Mark figures underneath the base. The Establishment player swaps out X number of the protesters in secret.

If a unit of cops come within 12" of a protester group with an agent in them, the cops may open fire without losing victory points.

This can be countered by a few "citizen journalists" with camera phones. The cop player will have to move into contact to confiscate evidence of brutality.

Might need an AK47 republic style political phase as well. Can the establishment spin it as "hooligans and fascist infiltrators" (if communists) or "anarchists and left wing radicals" (if western)?
Who wins the internet war and gets the most angry tweets in their favour?

In fact, games tend to ignore the mess of public opinion. Might make for interesting stuff though would probably work better with a GM.

Coelacanth193824 Aug 2014 9:49 p.m. PST

Having lived through the People's Park Riot as a kid, how about highway patrolmen shooting innocent spectators off their roofs or helicopters accidentally tear gassing a children's hospital?
