I haven't shared much here lately, so I thought I'd put up something I did that's rather out of left field. Hope you like it? Cheers!

Very nice Jim. I still can't get over how straight your lines are.
On another subject, would you happen to know if Ares is planning to show at this year's Tactical Solutions?

Nightmoss19 Aug 2014 10:16 a.m. PST

Vol, I don't think Ares will be there unless they have a volunteer set up something. As far as I know they only do Spiel Essen, Origins and Gen Con. I'll ask on the Anchorage and see if anyone knows what else they might attend.

"….unless they have a volunteer set up something."
Is that supposed to be some kind of hint?

ModelJShip20 Aug 2014 2:21 a.m. PST

Good job Jim …
What type of material you use to make lines? not appear painted ….

Nightmoss20 Aug 2014 7:25 a.m. PST

Vol, that was not a hint or pun, although I think you'd make a great Age of Sail/Ares rep at local events. I'm still out of it from Gen Con. :)

Julian, both the standing and running rigging lines are fly tying thread from UNI-Thread. They're manufactured in Spain and imported to the US.

@Julián

On anchorage he wrote its "graphic charting tape"

Seerms to be a good idea for such long lines.
One of the best things is you can get it in some different colours. ( but i think black will be the most used one )

whitejamest20 Aug 2014 6:32 p.m. PST

That's a great conversion Jim, beautifully done!

Nightmoss21 Aug 2014 8:12 a.m. PST

Sorry I misunderstood your question Julian. Yes, the lines are graphic charting tape, but you can also buy or make your own decals. Arakus has linked you the thread on the Anchorage. Cheers.
