These are a few years old now but still look pretty good. They were always just to bulk out the numbers of a modern zombie horde but my Caribbean voodoo horror project has got some legs and they really belong with them.

I really like your basing technique!

Are they pennies, or fender washers?

How are you able to obscure the figure's base so completely, and blend it with your basing material?

Yes, those are fender washers.

I use Liquitex Modeling paste and a small paint spatula to build up the sides and spread it around. I hate the "step" that is there if I don't.

After, I cover errors with the grass/flock to hide it even further.

It's a couple extra step but worth it.

Nice effect – I tend to go with acrylic gel medium containing lava ….'bits' for more texture.
