I'll do my best :) I am currently working on the next squad and have got to the 'lasgun shortening' phase… |
Insomniac | 02 Apr 2017 3:01 a.m. PST |
Once the Maiden Guard were finished, I started the first infantry squad for the third platoon. I have got quite far but unfortunately the picture is massive so if you are interested… here's where it's at :) : link |

This is the current state of the third platoon. I have just got to add beards, packs and weapons to the front 15 and they will all be at the same standard. The front five will be the command squad the other twenty will make up two infantry squads:

So… to keep the ball rolling, I have now finished adding beards to the full platoon which means that next, I will be adding weapons and back-packs (as required) :) :

Cheers. I'm glad you like it. The first Ratling sniper is finished and the second one is now on the cork :) . You will need to open the image in a new tab or something like that, for the 'actual size' image to be correct:

The next sniper is ticking along nicely:

I bought some of the new Kharadron Overlords today and thought I'd share a few scale pix. Before I do, I reckon that they are a bit big for this current army but have potential for a future faction… here they are:

Well… now I've 'scratched that itch', I can get back on track with a bit of sculpting so I am now 2 finished and one WIP, where Halfling snipers are concerned:

Outstanding work! Are you intending these for actual gaming or just a pet project for display? I have a fairly large Gnome Wars project that I started for myself as a collection, yet I now have several buddies crowiding me to finish them up so we can get to playing, lol! I have to say that I'm a bit disappointed to see Mantic scaling up their figures. |

Thanks for those comparison pics. Aside from some charachters, the only Mantic I'll be bringing into my squat army are the Forge Guard. |
Insomniac | 18 Jun 2017 2:43 a.m. PST |
Cheers. Mantic Steel Warriors are great for conversion though. I have added my own sculpted legs and that has brought them right down to Squat level:
That aside, I have the Forgeguard in my army as elites… so I am happy that they are slightly taller (I have converted them a little):
In other news, I have finished the fifth Halfling sniper:
and I've started on the next 'Halfling' Sniper…:

The snipers have all had their basing tabs added:
They have been packed up and will be sent to my caster tomorrow, for casting in July/August (he's a busy chap). Once they are cast up, I will be able to sell some. |

All absolutely Great Work ! |
Insomniac | 29 Jun 2017 3:25 a.m. PST |
Cheers :) Work on the Ogre sniper continues, now that the Halflings have been sent off for casting. I have continued to bulk out the torso and add the muscle groups. It is almost a shame that all this will be covered over… but at least I have a good foundation to work on:
Next will be the lower back and then the feet and lower legs. Lots to do. |

It appears that Photobucket is holding me to ransom. If I don't pay $399.99 USD a year, all of my photographs will remain as those photobucket place holders. I will not be held to ransom so I will be looking for an alternative host. In the meantime, I apologise for the fact that all of my images are gone… and are unlikely to reappear. I had no warning… the hosting update that apparently happened on 28th June has obviously come into effect. I now know why I have been seeing the place holders on so many forums. |
