Looking for suggestions for books on this topic.

One of the best authors I've read on WW2 Naval Histories: Vincent P. O'Hara--Struggle for the Middle Sea-Mediterranean Theater. I've also read and can recommend his books concerning the other WW2 Naval arenas.

There is another by Jack Green but I haven't read it so can't comment.

Two good ones for a general overview without costing a second mortgage are:
Naval war in the Mediterranean ,by Green and Massignani, it gives a balanced view of both sides, and
The War in the Mediterranean by Bernard Ireland, which puts the naval actions in the med in context with the rest of the war.

Naval war in the Mediterranean, by Green and Massignani is an excellent book as is Struggle for the Middle Sea by O'Hara.

Those are my two favorites at the moment.
