One of the best authors I've read on WW2 Naval Histories: Vincent P. O'Hara--Struggle for the Middle Sea-Mediterranean Theater. I've also read and can recommend his books concerning the other WW2 Naval arenas. link There is another by Jack Green but I haven't read it so can't comment. |

Two good ones for a general overview without costing a second mortgage are: Naval war in the Mediterranean ,by Green and Massignani, it gives a balanced view of both sides, and The War in the Mediterranean by Bernard Ireland, which puts the naval actions in the med in context with the rest of the war. |

Naval war in the Mediterranean, by Green and Massignani is an excellent book as is Struggle for the Middle Sea by O'Hara. Those are my two favorites at the moment. |
