"This is a first impressions post based on the Plastic Soldier Review photos (link below). I'm actually curious how their review would judge the set.
My readers may know that I've been waiting for something to be released like this. I was secretly hoping that A Call to Arms would start producing their 54mm ECW riders in 1/72. Anyway, here's the savior(?), the photos are up on PSR (no review submitted yet). Of course they can and will be used as European reiters. This spares me a lot of work with green stuff – but not all, apparently…"

Nice enough figures. A few creative conversions will be needed to overcome the lack of poses.

Poor pose choices! They should have included a separate arm wielding a sword because as is you will have either two trumpeters or two flag bearers per twelve man units! Also not a fan of the carbine shooting sideways pose or the man shooting downwards.

Very disappointed! I was anticipating this set.

Looking at PSR, the riders look well sculpted and moulded, but the choice of poses is certainly quite limited.

One of features of we old 1/72 plastic figures fans was we were mad convertors.

Spoilt for choice, this isn't as common as formerly but with such a set, amputations, green stuff et al will be the order of the day.

I must admit I'm not too sure about the horse furniture though (ne expert here).

I am afraid I might not have been around in the days of mad convertors, but since then world has seen sets like this released:

@ Griefbringer

The Revell 30 Years War sets win all arguments….

However (in aged gaffer voice) in my day with the Tarzan figure from the Airfix box, a sharp blade & some banana oil, we made whole regiments of mounted landsknechts (cough, cough, wheeze)…..

Perhaps there is some hope that this new set could be used alongside the old Revell set to bring more variety.

Review is up on Plastic Soldier Review and echos many of the comments made in this thread.

Sad to say, I was wrong. I don't think any amount of converting will save this as a set.
Pity.
