I am considering one of these to make my own space game mat. link Has anyone tried these? Are they relatively easy to use, and is the grid pretty easy to see? |

Yes, I have the 2 inch stencil and it worked well for making a Commands & Colors mat. A few examples can be seen on my blog: link link |

I used the 1" hex template for a naval game. It's tough, easy to clean and perfectly symmetrical. I sprayed mine, not sure how they would work with a brush. My only complaint is I think the dots are much larger than they need to be. However, I suppose that does make the grid easy to see ! Personally, I'd like to see a template that is just the "Y's" where the hexes meet if you know what I mean. Just a thin line tracing about a third of the hex side. |

Thanks JonFreitag, that was exactly what I was wanting to see! |

I just bought the custom 6 inch hex grid with the corner pattern. It looks great, although the material is thinner than expected. It measures 12in by 24in and only has 3 full and one partial hex, I wish it was bigger to fit more hexes. The little "Y's" are large enough to fit a fine marker if you don't want to use spray paint. |
