A friend is visiting Scotland for two weeks. His daughter is participating in Highland Dance competitions. Are there any good shops for miniatures, preferably ancients and medievals in the Stirling and Glasgow areas.
If I remember correctly, there was a manufacturer in Scotland, but cannot remember their name. Any info would be greatly appreciated

Or Outpost Wargames maybe?

Chazz there's a place called Commonground Games in Stirling

01786 357414

commongroundgames.co.uk

Open Tues to Sun 12 – 21.00

Has a gaming room, cafe and a small shop.

Then there's Tom's shop

The Dragon and George at 35 Parnie Street, Glasgow

that's in the city centre about 10 minutes from Argyll Subway and just round the corner is

Jamiesons Models 30 Saltmarket Glasgow 0141 552 3956

or Static Games also on king Street 0141 552 9785 on the corner of Parnie Street.

Most of these shops cater for roleplaying I'm afraid though you can tabletop game at Commoground. For miniatures the only one I can think of locally is

Warrior Miniature 14 Tiverton Ave Glasgow 01417783426

warrioronline.demon.co.uk

They've been trading for years but it's not a shop so calling ahead might be the way of it.

A bit north outside Montrose is Scotia/Grendel

scotiagrendel.com

Mainly Fantasy and Sci/Fi

Hope your friend enjoys Scotland and the lassie does well at the dancing.

Static, mentioned by kodiakblair above, has a decent range of 28mm plastics and may have some Gripping Beast Saga packs. Can't think of anyone who has a stock of metal figures.

I didn't lmow about Common Ground – I must pop in sometime.

Thank you all very much. Yes, I believe it was Outpost Wargames as I was looking for 15mm Republican Romans. Claymore castings look vey nice. I shall forward the information to my pal.
Got a feeling some serious money will be pumped into the Scottish economy over the next week or so.
