Greetings!

I was wondering if Perry, Sash and Saber, and Redoubt 28mm
ACW miniatures look good mixed together. Also I had heard the sculptor who did the Sash and Saber ACW miniatures also have done the Old Glory 25mm ACW second edition miniatures?
Are they the same size as the Sash and Saber? At the Old Glory website they dont say the 25mm miniatures are the second edition? Is that all they sell now? Thank you!

I've got Perry, Old Glory 2nd ed and Sash and Saber and all mix very well. I've no Redoubt so I cant speak to their compatibility

I only have Perry metal but they fit in well with Sash and Saber and Chris from Sash and Saber has done some of Old Glory but not sure about the second edition. Redoubt are alittle larger but I have regiments of them with the others. It all depends if you are a stickler for exact height matching or not.

As above. Chris did OG II and they fit with S&S as you would expect. Its like having additional poses for S&S.

I have some of all. Redoubt proportions are good but are taller than the others. IMO, they don't mix well. Not in same units at all.

I have Old Glory 1st edition I believe with seperate heads. I have Dixon.
I have Redoubt. They mix in my opinion, though the Old Glory seems slender and the Dixon seem portly. I am quite biased in that all the Redoubt are my favorite figs. I have some Perry, even though they are a little smaller. I would have loved to work the Sash an Saber into the mix, but they were too small. Renegade were way to big. I forgot. I have some 1st corps also. They worked.

I should say that I am planning to do skirmish with there and each figure will be one man mounted on an individual base.

If you're doing skirmish, then it really doesn't matter at all! But I would use Perry, Sash and Saber, and Old Glory 2nd edition in the same unit if on the same stand.

Our group's collection has figures from all of these folks. They mix together fine. I might not put Redoubt in the same unit with other makers but as units side by the side they aren't noticeably different. There is a ton of variety just with Redoubt – I put some Steve Barber heads on them for additional variety.

The only thing that didn't fit were the Perry plastic cav. They are gorgeous figures but they tower over all other cav.

I have to agree on skirmish….my BAB forces consist of Sash and Saber, Old Glory 2nd edition and Steve Barber models.

The interesting thing is, I played a game at NashCon hosted by Bob Moon, and he seemed to be mixing figure manufacturers. The result was very dynamic units.

How do First Corps compare to other 25mm ACW miniatures?

GoodOldRebel30 Aug 2014 3:39 p.m. PST

the armies I game with contain first corps, perry plastics, dixons and a smattering of old glory …..first corps are taller and bulkier than the other ranges?

Darkoath,

This gentleman also mixes ranges:

Our ACW figures work well with Perry miniatures.

The Redoubts are on the large size compared to the figures you mentioned, but not sure about the 1st corps figs.
