Good day to all

I read my first book on my Samsung Tablet, and ti was "The Road to Koniggratz" by Quintin Barry. The experience of reading on the tablet was excellent.

The book itself was good. I really enjoyed the parts on Moltke's early career, early years as Chief of General Staff, the 1864 war, and then the chapters on the operations against the smaller german states during the Austro-Prussian War of 1866. The chapters on Koniggratz itself were ok, giving a good and detailed overview of the battle, but a bit dry.

All in all a very good book to have, and a must have on the western theater of the Austro-Prussian war of 1866.

I can also recommend the Kindle or Kindle on tablets as a reading experience.

eReaders are a wargamers god send…

I use mine to take my library with me everywhere and it's so easy to run a search in PDF rules.

Mines a Galaxy Tab3 with the 10" screen to make it easy on my eyes.

The reason I did this is because it cost me 1300$ to mail my library to my new job. It just is so much cheaper on space and money to use a e-reader.

I got a Kindle because my book shelves are packed, no more room for real books.

I can't take my library with me because too many of the books have no ebook version.

Excellent book, certainly.

Were the maps easy to read on your tablet? How easy was it to refer to them and follow the action while reading the text?

Well that was one issue. But I could have a map on my phone or something to follow it. Frankly if the maps are the maps in the print book they were not that good anyway. You could enlarge pictures and maps by double tapping on them. You could also go back and forth like in a book.
