Found this game late and picked up a few ships but can't seem to find any on the manufacturer's site.

Is this line completely dead? A shame, I liked the larger sized ships versus the old SFB Starline stuff.

ADB has completely taken over the game from Mongoose and continue to release new models in the 2500? line

The Starline 2500 ships are only going to be available directly from ADB. They have been releasing or at least showing some new models. As far as I know all the old models are available now.

They will be sold only as individual ships. The boxed sets are gone. Although you can still find them online from some retailers.

Also ADB is going to release a new version of the rules. Hopefully fixing some of the problems. That should be done by the end of the year.

Avoid the boxed sets like the plague. The early waves were full of miscasts and mispacks, and there's no good way to tell the good from the bad on most online listings for them. Very much the same problem the early releases of Firestorm Armada suffered from.

The ADB-era singles are safe buys as far as I've heard, as are metal singles of any generation.

Thanks guys!
I did check out the ADB site as well as online auctions. I'm watching some ebay auctions going on now at a good price. What I can't pick up there, mostly Fed Ships, I'll try ordering from ADB.

Also exciting to hear that a new version of the rules will come out. Hopefully it will stay relatively simple.

I just ordered some Klingon ships to use with that game. My Klingons don't have bumpy heads, if you care to know. ;)

Would love to see the clear resin Romulan warbirds. Thought that was a great way to show them cloaked.

Not trying to toot my own horn, but tooting my own horn, I Have some of these ships for sale in the Marketplace right now…

Cool, thanks for the tip, I'll PM you Joe.
I'm also keeping my eye on Ebay, some tasty deals there too.

Unfortunately the clear resin ships never were produced, due to various problems.

Be REALLY careful buying the boxed sets, you need to clarify if they are metal, not the older crappy resin ships.

Also, avoid Kzinti boxed ships like the plague. They had a tendency to flop around in the boxes, bending and breaking drone booms off. Singles in retail clamshell packs are a better bet if you can find them, or inspect in person first.

I bought some Star Fleet looking ships from Shapeways last year in various materials to see what the quality was like. Even the basic material was sufficient for table top play, but it does pay to get the "smoother" resin versions.

Be sure to check the sizes before you buy, and they sell ships in clear resin so everyone can be cloaked now!

Buying from ADB is a good idea. They actually check the ships as they are delivered from the caster, and send back any that are missing part, miscast, etc., before they put them in their inventory. When I was buying the ships from Mongoose, I never had a shipment that didn't have missing parts, or a box set that wasn't missing a ship. Mongoose did make good on them, but it was a pain to have to deal with it every time.

I've been buying direct from ADB, and second their attention to QC.

More per ship than the old box sets, but no messing with replacements, and additional flexibility so that you can create the fleet you want.

They just released some additional Orion (and one Tholian) ships, and plan to roll out more every month from here on in!

@Gabriel – that's awesome!

I'm placing an order for some Fed NCLs from the ADB site and hope to pick up some dirt cheap auctions on ebay for some basic Klingon and Romulan types.
