Would it be possible to have a configuration option to set new boards off by default? |

Make it a Poll Suggestion. I would vote NAY, since I have all Boards are turned on for me. How would I know about it if it were automatically turned OFF? If you see a new Board and it offends you, it takes 30 seconds to turn it OFF. Problem solved, and those who may have missed its birth are not deprived. |

To be honest, I agree with John. Do we get advised when a new board is created, or do we just have to pick up on it? If the latter, perhaps there's some way we could have a list of new boards up at the top of the forum for a few days, so that anyone who wants to opt out can spot them immediately. |

Finding out about new boards can be a bit hit and miss. I think John has a very valid point. It seems a bit of an odd thing to ask for, to be honest. Why the assumption that new boards will be of no interest? |

Would it be possible to have a configuration option to set new boards off by default? It would be possible, but a bit of work. Do we get advised when a new board is created… Yes, all new boards are announced on TMP Talk, as well as any other relevant boards. |

@Cerdic – good question really. I'm just going on the experience of seeing strange (for me – things I'm prolly not interested in) topics pop up on my main page from new boards. And I have to go chase down the page and turn it off. I'm just disposed personally to opt in to things voluntarily rather than being opted in by default. It's not that big a deal, and if it's a bunch of work for the editors, please disregard the suggestion. |

Fair enough! Myself, I'd be wondering if I'd missed an announcement of a new board and was missing out on something good! |
