Thanks for the information, Tango! For the gamers, they were coupled with the Legion du Midi (1 battalion) and the 26th French Line – battalions 4, 5, and 6. (1, 2 and 3 were trapped in ?the West Indies?) Midi had dark brown long-tailed coats, vest and breeches, faced mid-blue, or deep sky blue: link The 26th had "standard" French long-tailed habit, but unique in having non-edged white cuff flaps. Drummer wore tall green plume with part red, blue habit with red lapels and "swallows nests" on the shoulder. These seem to have a red/white/blue edging. See Bucquoy. They were all together at Bussaco in Portugal. GdeP |

Nice thank you, love the exotic unit that fought in Spain/Portugal. I'm building a unit of Dutch Hussars some of these look good to add to my odd units I'm building up for my Sharpe's Sword games I want to play (I've been getting the troops/enemy's used for the first part of the Fondlers campaign and am starting slowly to get started on the next part of the adventure. BTW anyone got ideas/amendments to the rules by TFL to enhance solo play? Cheers all happy gaming. |

Thanks, Camcleod! I have put that into favorites. Someday will do 36 of these in 18mm – probably converted Staddens. The new site does not seem to allow expansion, as does the old. I have a feature at the lower right corner of may laptop screen that allow % increase, but the image is very "fuzzy." The old is truly better! GdeP |

A handy unit to have. They also served at Fuentes de Onoro (along with the Legion du Midi). Some sources show white plumes for the grenadiers. Note that they only had five companies – 1x Grenadier/Carabiner Company and 4x Chasseur Companies. No Voltigeurs. The Legion du Midi also had five companies – 1x Grenadier/Carabinier Company, 1x Voltigeur Company & 3x Chasseur Companies. |
