I'm planning on using an airbrush to paint up my modern Israeli microarmor and was wondering if anyone had suggestions on which paints to use. Ideally, the specific brand/formulation/color should be airbrush ready. Also, are there any good primers designed for an airbrush?

Thanks!

I paint a lot of my Israeli armor with Testors Acryl Israeli Armor Sand. Drybrush with Acryl Armor Sand and you should be good. This would especially be for Yom Kippur War to Peace for Galilee. Thin with rubbing alcohol.

Damon.

Thanks, Damon. Most of the vehicles I'm going to be painting weren't even fielded during Peace For Galilee! Merk IVs, Namers, Achzarits, and such. I'll look into the Testors paints, though.

Thanks!

Thanks, LawOfTheGun mk2! One more question…what color primer would work best for the micro armor? I have a black primer that I've used for 28mm fantasy minis, but I'm not sure whether that would be better than a grey or sand color.

If you undercoat black and then over spray the highlights white or grey ( either with primer can or airbrush) you will achieve some rudimental shading almost for free, under the lighter IDF colour coat.

I've been looking for the MIG acrylics and can't seem to find a company here in the US that offers them online. Does anyone have a source online for them?

I found that about fifteen minutes after I posted and already made the order. It seems there are a lot of good paints available in Europe, but with limited availability here in the States.
