Hi,
Has anyone used the battle-flag transfers on Victrix Hoplites. My first attempt hasn't worked very well – I get creases as the shield surface curves towards the edge. I just did a search on the TMP message boards and also You tube for a tutorial but with no luck. Normally, water slide transfers are fairly straightforward, but this is the first time I have tried on one of these shields….so maybe I am doing something wrong

You need to use setting solution. It will melt the transfer just a bit so it conforms to the shield. You can usually get it at most model hobby shops.

1. Center the transfer on the shield normally
2. Add a drop of setting solution on top of transfer

Transfer should conform itself to the shield surface.

I had a problem when I varnished the shield surface before applying transfers. Had to use white glue to stick them in place.

So now it is white paint, apply transfer, drop of water on top and then massage/pat gently into place with some paper kitchen towel – helps smooth out the edges.

Will now look out for the setting agent as leidang suggests.

Thx to both of you. Maybe part of my problem is that I had dipped the model in army painter shade , which effectively acts as a varnish. I have ordered a bottle of the setting solution off ebay. I'll give it a go
