A week or so back I posted a thread on some of my more recent Rogue Trader era miniatures. The last miniature displayed in that post was . . . less recent. And larger. A gentleman going by the handle of Ordinarybass said he'd love to see more photographs of this last "miniature." (I place miniature in quotation marks as Eddie is . . . well . . . he's a little gifted as 28mm miniatures go. He's more like 228mm from head to toe, or about 9" for the imperialists. I call him Eddie, or Ed, as he's an ED-209 model made into a small 40K titan.

So I posted some pictures of Ed in a comment on my thread . . . which had by then faded somewhat into the background as newer and shinier stuff took over. Please forgive me if you've already seen this, but no one said anything and I'm not sure if anyone much realized the photos were there. So Grim Dark Titans of the Vintage Future Past (Now with More Eddie! is something of a repost, fresh, from scratch . . .

I won't belabor the dialogue so much this time, as you can read it at the link above, but here's the art if you care to see it.

Here he is with some Space Wolves for scale

And again with a Whirlwind

This one I call Tom

Thanks for joining me. Cross my heart, I will post actual new content next time, and not something readily available in a comment two inches lower on the same forum. (Hint, I bought some Ramshackle miniatures. They're getting painted apace. Reviews will follow.)

See you next time and thanks for reading.

Sincerely,
The Composer

That is nicely done. I think I've got an Ed in the kids' pile--I feel a project coming on!

And it didn't cost him 120 Bucks!

Nice conversion!

Nope. Under 120. The ED-209 wasn't free . . . don't remember what it cost in the mid eighties. I'd guess thirty or forty, which was probably about the same as a land raider at the time. And I had to "pay" my friend Ben for his G. I. Joe parts. (I probably traded him zoid parts or something. Don't really recall.)

Ed's an old and worn beast, but I still like him. Thank you very much. And Katz, if you build one I want to see it. Maybe I'll do it again one of these days. (The EDs seem to be cheaper now on E-bay than I remember them being then.)

Thank you Ratoruk. No need to get your coat. Neither I nor Ed will be showing you the door. 'Twas a good movie.

I am now authorized to use physical force! Cool!

SymphonicPoet03 Aug 2014 9:13 p.m. PST

^GhostofRebecaBlack,

Huh? I need to watch the movie again. I don't remember that part. Should I duck? Is this about that parking ticket?

Dear Poet,

The statement about physical force was issued by the ED when the timer had expired.I will keep my coat thankyou

SymphonicPoet05 Aug 2014 7:00 p.m. PST

Thank you Raotoruk369.

I had a feeling it was something like that, but it's been . . . thirty years? Geeze. I don't remember. Long time. Was a good movie, but it was also a long time ago. I know the ED went balistic in the board room, but I can't recall why. (Probably about a parking ticket. He was a meter maid, right? Yes. That's it.)

Did the other board member say he'd get his coat after ED splattered then third guy all over the New Detroit model? Maybe that's the part I missed. :">
