Our PREFUNDIA page is up and running with some interesting information on the Kickstarter, the mini's available etc. This page will grow during the next month before the Kickstarter begins in September.

Minion Miniatures is a new Fantasy Miniature manufacturer with plans to release a whole range of plastic, metal and resin miniatures support our new fantasy skirmish game called Underdeep. This will be done via our new KICKSTARTER.

Underdeep takes place underneath the world of Morn, crushed by decades of war. Now it is the time of the creatures of the Underdeep to have their time… The game focuses on the battles and machinations of the pivotal races of the Underdeep including Goblins, Orcs, Gnolls, Drow, Undead and many more besides. The difference in this world is that the Sunsiders are generally only minor players in this vast world, a world where evil battles evil on an almost contestant basis.

The basic Kickstarter will allow us to release the plastic sprues for both the Zombie Abominations and Goblinkind with our basic rules being free and downloadable when the KS launches. We want the community to help us develop the rules throughout the KS and beyond to make them as exciting and entertaining as possible.

Superb looking figure concepts and artwork, very refreshing to see Goblins that are not the predictable big nosed large grin GW inspired style.
Hope the Kickstarter does really well, it will be great to see them all available.

Greenryth03 Aug 2014 11:41 a.m. PST

Thank you RobH. We just need to spread the word as much as possible and get the KS funded then there will be goblins and zombies a plenty!

Gunner Dunbar03 Aug 2014 4:13 p.m. PST

these look great, as you posted this on the 15mm Fantasy board can we expect 15mm versions?

Cyrus the Great03 Aug 2014 5:33 p.m. PST

So far, the renders match the artwork…I'm in for this.

Greenryth04 Aug 2014 9:06 a.m. PST

Thanks Cyrus. The KS starts in September. Loads of cool stuff based in the Underdeep setting with Army Books etc coming eventually too. Will be quite a few extra factions and possibly a few more KS as well. We will be looking at Orcs, Gnolls and Drow next.

Will that Goblin Skulk be able to be posed apart from the dwarf head or is it one piece?

Greenryth05 Aug 2014 12:28 p.m. PST

No it's several pieces. The goblin does come off the statue but he is designed fit alongside a piece of masonry but I am sure you could substitute another piece if masonry for it if you wish.

Greenryth – thank you for the reply. That might work for me. I am building a diorama of Morgoth creating the first great winged dragon in Angband and it involves several hundred characters. What I love about your designs is that I can use so many for orcs. Outside of the licensed LOTR and HOBBIT orcs/goblins – its really hard to find any good ones that do not have that cartoonish lantern jaw or big head or large nose that so many lines seem to prefer. Your line features characters which are realistic looking and fit in well.

I expect to get a bunch.

Really looking forward to the final product.

Greenryth08 Aug 2014 11:01 p.m. PST

That sounds like an awesome project! In fact the Lotr had a huge part in the design of the goblins themselves. I had the book when I was very young and Moria and the Goblins were always very evocative. I think the idea for this style of goblin was formed then and ever since other goblins have never really done it for me. The best design I had seen was when Peter Jackson designed them for the film version.

We now have a goblin render for the boxed set up in the face book page along with some new pictures of the goblin Skulk.

Green – went to facebook and saw the Goblin King and guards – amazingly awesome!!!!! You keep this up and match the drawings with great sculpts and casts and I can see getting at least a 100 of these figures from you.

What is neat about your designs is that they both are new so they look like some orcs may have looked in the time of Morgoth – plus they fit with the GW goblins that populate so many corners of my diorama.

Its really fortunate and the timing is great.

Keem em coming!!!!

Will the figures be attached to bases or will they be separate (like I like them)?

Greenryth10 Aug 2014 7:16 a.m. PST

They will be seperate. No attached bases. They will be supplied with 30mm round lipped bases or 20mm square bases.

Have you joined the Prefundia page? We are trying to push this as much as possible as we can alert you when the Kickstarter page goes live .

Just thought I would add some new stuff. Here is the Underdeep logo for our skirmish game and the WIP head for the Bugbear Ironshield.

Saw your latest Bugbear Ironshield on Facebook – the one with the shot from the chest on up and it is amazing. Truly great looking and if the rest of it matches it will be magnificent.

One of the things that sound very promising about your upcoming line is how you can take one basic figure and turn it into several others with weapons choice and such.

So how many different figures could I possibly make from this one?

And when can I get my hands on it?

Minionminis20 Aug 2014 4:22 p.m. PST

The Bugbear Ironshield is part of the inital release and is immediately available from our addon store. The Mini is 65-70mm tall, made of resin and will be £18.00 GBP There will be a couple of versions of this mini with the same body but a couple of head choices, weapon and shield choices. The mini will look like this:

The same goes for the Flesh Golem:

There will be some variation in head and arms for this model to make a few different looking Flesh Golems. We may, if we make enough on the Kickstarter, make a another body for both types too but for now this will be the offering.

There will be plenty of other things available in the addon store before the Stretchgoals kick in like T-shirts, Art Prints and even a hardback Underdeep Artbook featuring all of the art published so far plus a load of extra stuff still in the works. This book will be signed and limited edition too.

Had a great evening play testing tonight (play test session 2031…at least it feels like it). Game is playing really well. One or two things to iron out still but the rules will be available to download in a basic format when the Kickstarter launches in three weeks. Please have a look at our Facebook page to see a few photos of the playtest. I am afraid we are still using the carboard cutouts but the minis should be arriving soon!!!!

Sorry about the silence guys. Truly hellish last couple of days. Basically don't use Google Chrome to launch a kickstarter!!

Video upload issues followed by clicking on the review button followed by the removal of my own eyes via spoon followed by many other horrible events that I wish had not happened when they did!!!

Any way… its seems as if the project is ready to go. I just have to click the launch button (I swear if something go's wrong when I hit that button I may go on some kind of rampage!)
