Some of my best friends are Morris Dancers, one is even a proper historical wargamer as well.

I fear there's a nasty Morri-phobic backlash starting to develop here – don't pass judgement on minority groups you really know nothing about.

No, I'm a Texan. Your "response" -- a rather sophomoric and trite one at that -- did not address anything that was said earlier.

The post you purportedly replied to was an attempt to explain the fact that God (or anyone for that matter) can love someone without approving of their actions. Your response -- "God sucks because bad stuff happens" (now that's profound) -- had nothing to do with that. It was, obviously, an attempt to gin up another flame war. Please try to use a little more style next time.

As long as they do their job properly, I don't give a about their gender, race, religious beliefs or political affiliation. Honestly, I wouldn't care even if they were just computer generated avatars!

To be honest, if anyone is to blame in all this, its you Bill.

Its not really anything to do with the hired help, most people on here would agree that they don't care a fig about who/what/why etc. It was your handling of all this situation thats the main bone of contention.

What has been seen is that many of us users have witnessed another side to you in this nonsense, a lot of this you could have easily avoided by not fanning the fires in the first place.

It all comes out looking as if your no better than the people you try and demonise, showing a fair amount of intolerance, spite, and childishness on your own part with all the bannings, censorship and namecalling thats been brought up in this debarcle.

I'm sure you'll tell me that I'm nothing but a nasty frother troll or something (whatever) but I'm a member of many internet forums one of which does happen to be frothers. Big deal, I have never seen anything to say whilst being a member of TMP excludes me from joining other online communities, and I guess thats the same for many others here too. If that qualifies me as a troll or whatever, then so be it, it just shows that you fail to see what the real crack is going on here.

Never mind frothers, I've noted lots of other place online where this is spilling onto, and its generally about what a sorry mess this has become and your poor lack of judgement in the situtaion regarding your treatment of members has turned many from what was once a decent place to come online.

To the assistant editors, I agree live and let live. Don't let all this get you down, after all the world would be a crap place to live if we were all just clones of one and other. To thine own self be true.

No doubt I'll get ignores, stifles and some crap from those who disagree with me, but personally after the week I've had, I don't give a . Bill, I don't think that you are making the right move on this. The various silly posts* were an effort to diffuse this ridiculous situation. They were largely succeeding, in my opinion.

By deleting them, you've made it far easier for the trolls to reignite the war. <shrug> Maybe you believe that this kerfluffle has somehow been beneficial and continuing it is a Good Idea.

If so, I respectfully disagree. You really should reconsider allowing it to die. And letting us poke fun at those who desperately want to continue it.

*as an aside, this entire thread and the assorted related threads are off-topic. They have nothing to do with miniature wargaming or any part of the hobby. So it seems a little surreal for folks to complain about off topic posts in an off topic thread related to an off-topic dispute.

But, it's your sandbox, so your rules apply (a principle I'm fine with).

Most of the bannings were sock puppets, or people who tried to invade the editors' privacy. If people want to come back, they can talk to me. Banning is not the end of the world.

As for censorship, yes, I will censor people for trying to invade someone's privacy.

Namecalling? What I've said is that the people who called my editors rapists, prostitutes, and dumb Asians are filth, and I stand by that. They like to claim I'm a dictator, but they are the bullies.

All Michael was doing was trying to sell his products on another forum. He's on most other forums too.

All he asked was what they were going on about and you insulted him for it. I can understand you defending your staff, I don't agree with those comments which were made. But I didn't feel that you should've called Michael filth.

The filth comment should've been directed at the person or people who were insulting the editors.

If Bill had simply stated that he had employed a number of Filipino nationals to work as editors and left it at that I'm sure it would have all been fine.

The thing that stuck with me was the amount of flag waving and attention drawn to the new editors by Bill, which felt improper and inappropriate.

I wish the editors luck, I hope they grow to enjoy the hobby and I hope they never have to talk about their gender again on these boards.

I was proud, and remain proud, to have grown this company to the point where there is a staff. Flag-waving and attention were a natural result of being proud of my team.

My joining in the "silly" posts was certainly an attempt to lighten the mood, and not in any way intended to be disrespectful.

Complements to Bill and his Staff…this is the only war gaming site I frequent. I did go visit that "frothed" website because of bru-ha-ha going on. I didn't favorite it.
This is a great site and I wish it many more years of success.
