After a very long hiatus, in may 2009 I picked up wargaming again after the release of Mark Copplestone's 1672 miniature range, now in the catalogue of North Star.

Together with mr M. Elzinga, I started up my blog on warfare in the 17th century, with information on battles, fortresses and uniforms, and dutch military history in general, in which we share our historical research and pretty pictures.

The title of the blog is derived from the year 1672, "rampjaar" or "disaster year", in which te Dutch Republic was attacked by the French, English and Munster/Cologne armies, but managed to survive.

The last picture/movie series deals with the Historical Museum of Texel and a visit of a 16th cenury fortress, partly restored.

Thanks for the note.

This just might be the ticket to fill that void in my collecton; a shot and pike army.

Cheers,
