Hi all,

I have been using the holiday period to finish off some modular caverns, tunnels and more corridor/room like tiles for both sci-fi and fantasy gaming. I've posted about the rooms and corridors before, so I wanted to show you all my asymmetric tunnels. I had been scratching my head for quite a while about what to do, then Hexagons came to me. They are just perfect for giving the impression of winding tunnels and caves, but are regular enough to join up with each other and with the already existing room complexes. Hope you like them. How to make them is on the blog, but mainly I just printed out paper hex sheet and glued it to cork boards.

Thanks Terrement.

I'm in the UK and get my corkboard from Homebase. 9 foot square tiles for flooring for about £9.00 GBP. Its about 5mm thick shiny on one side and un-sealed on the other.I just cut it with a Stanly knife.I can see where you're going on the metallic floor, but I have no big plans for grating.

Thanks Legion and War Monkey. Pinch away. I'd be glad to see what others do with the idea.

I think the use of hexagon tiles for caverns is inspired!

Stealing this idea.

Great stuff.

I like walls, so I would add half walls to the tunnels at least, but well done!

Thanks Smokeyroan and Xin,

I think, like probably many people before me, that the question of shall I make walls or do without them is a dilemma that dungeon design always throws up. I have made full wall dungeons and got a lot of satisfaction out of them, but I've gone for no walls for reasons of storage and also fat-finger-effect. I keep knocking things down. I would like to see half walls to see how they work out.Do you mean like in this picture? The Dwarven Forge stuff looks very nice.
