Hi all, want a few more Knights for my Bretonnians. Ive only really got 4th ed knights at the moment, and cant find anything of a similar size: the later 5th and 6th ed stuff tends to be a lot bigger. Well actually most of the 5th ed characters are about right, but quite pricey! I was hoping the Foundry HWY range would fit becouse theyre practically identical, and I assumed, the same sculpts, but closer inspection reveals they are much much smaller. Can anyone suggest a range that would tie in nicely with them, in both size and style? |

Front Rank would probably work. I mounted them on GW 6th Ed horses and they looked OK, if not a little small up there on the horse. I think that they would, with the original FR horses, look just the job alongside 4th Ed Brets. link |

Some of Blacktree's fantasy medievals look spot on too. Big chunky figures. Downside is the often appalling service encountered. Front Rank are very good and I agree they scale well. Service is excellent. |

I think Black Tree are designed to match those 4th edition figures, whereas Front Rank are slightly bigger than that. The FR are gorgeous and the best on the market for their periods, IMHO, and by and large match up well with GW. I would get a couple of each to see which you like better. |

Some of Blacktree's… Downside is the often appalling service encountered. That just is not true any more. Please read all the current BTD USA threads. Also, sign up for their free premium membership for excellent sales. They do take a bit longer to process orders during their 50% off sales due to volume, which is expected. |

BTD look about right style wise. Might order a pack to have a look. I didnt realise they had a HYW range, Id just looked at their fantasy stuff! Says that they have 35% off now on early HYW but this doesnt appear to apply to the cavalry… |

The BTD HYW figs match up perfectly with the fantasy Men of Averaign range (which are Bretonnian clones)--but the Helsinians are much slighter in build and different in style. Interestingly, though, I prefer the Helsinian barded horses, which match Empire horses, more than the cloth-barded Men of Averaign horses, which are meant to match Bretonnian horses. BTD often does that "discount on infantry, but not on cavalry" thing--annoying, I agree. |

I recently received a big order from BTD and they arrived exactly on the day they said it would arrive. This was BTD UK as far as I could tell. |

They just started a 50% off sale, so now is a good time to buy. |

HAH! Mearly ordered yesterday, then decided against it…then as I was about head for bed noticed a new email arrive. Well timed that. Only 20% for the cavalry, but I picked up some wood elves too. |

Well they arrived yesterday, the Knights and Foot Knights are a pretty good match so very happy, Horses are the right hight but a little thin…might try and find some stockier 5th ed bretonnian horses, but will see how they paint up. The Elves are pointy eared and gittish…exactly as ordered! Excellent service really. |
