I've spent the last few months working on a website for Wargaming Miniature collectors. That website is called Mini Legions.
The initial database is limited to just the Lord of the Rings/Hobbit, Strategy Battle Game miniatures range. This is because it's a personal favourite but also a manageable data sample. It's pretty much complete, at least as far as SKUs go. We're now looking to start adding other product lines and other manufacturers.
Once you've signed up you can add Miniatures to your collection and upload pictures of your painted minis. You follow other users' progress and vote for the best painted examples of each and every miniature.
What we're looking for now is people keen to help expand the database to cover other manufacturers and product lines. Perhaps you have your own miniatures company or you're just keen on the idea of showcasing all your favourite miniatures in one place and would like to help contribute. Have a look at the site and get in touch if it's something you'd be interested in. We're very keen to expand but it needs real experts in each Miniature range.
In the long run the aim is to have a site where people can buy and sell miniatures from each other, list parts and accessories, organise games and track their win/loss ratios, group miniatures by Force or Army for display and generally support all aspects of the toy soldiers hobby.
If you have any ideas, bugs, problems or feedback then please please email us (hq@minilegions.com) or equally you can tweet at us @minilegions or best of all use the feedback form on the site.
Hope you enjoy the site and obviously bear in mind it's early days and will get exponentially more exciting as it grows.
