Yorktown, but nobody likes to talk about it.

I think there were elephant carrying balloons (or was it elephants towing balloons?) at Plassey. :)

In WWII in Hamburg and possibly Berlin, the Germans used Indian elephants and barrage balloons.

Yorktown does have appeal, but the hipster in me realizes that now that the masses have discovered AWI gaming, the cachet is gone. And the Hamburg / Berlin thing has been done.

I was thinking maybe something with the Brits in India, but don't know the period well enough, hence the question. I'm guessing the answer is no, or do folks just not know?

I've never 'eard of Balloons in India.

However, you could stretch an F TROOP scenario…camels and balloons, plus Heckawee!

I also liked Roderick's potential scenario!

Kunersdorf: Russian jingal elephants (a gift from the Shah as a token of anti-Ottoman alliance) vs Prussian zambereck camels (a gift from the Porte as a token of anti-Austrian alliance); balloons can appear on either side.

Elephants in balloons?

The siege of Paris in the FPW
…although it depends how you want your elephant cooked :)

French war minister Léon Gambetta left Paris in a hot air balloon to try to organize the army. At the same time, people of Paris were eating the zoo animals and this menu includes elephant soup:

Patrice,

Unsure of the gaming potential, but that's brilliant ;)
