It is a conversion of an FV432

deephorse27 Jul 2014 7:26 a.m. PST

To be fair he does go on to say that it is a replica.

PHGamer27 Jul 2014 7:41 a.m. PST

Thanks, checked out the FV432, and the bogie wheels are a match. I checked them when I was looking over the STG to determine if it was a STG III or IV. Noted 6 wheels, and moved on.

He added an extra road wheel and a return wheel.

I believe the Finns have a veteran Stug from WWII in a museum. I saw a video of it once with a modern Leopard. The Stug drove out and then the Leopard raced in circles around it.

I was passed by a hetzer on a lorry on the A1 once… Nearly crashed rubber necking!

stenicplus27 Jul 2014 3:42 p.m. PST

Saw a Kettengrad on a trailer on the M25 last weekend… Other occupants in the car were mildly amused to see me excitedly exclaim "Oh look! Kettengrad!".

I used to do WWII reenacting in the midwestern US. We had (and by we I mean much wealthier fellows than me, I was in College and broke) a lot of vehicles. Three sdkfz 251/Ds converted from Czech post war models, an Opel Blitz, a couple of Hetzers (the Swiss used them post war for quite a while, which is where many of them come from) and loads of allied vehicles.

And this was 22 years ago, now they have a lot more.

Footslogger28 Jul 2014 4:08 a.m. PST

That is an amazing conversion.

I wouldn't like to do that in 1:72, let alone 1:1!
