I miss the old 1/87 RAFM Heavy Gear minis

So do I, but the 1/144 scale works better for tactical gaming with squads of Gears per side.

The old 1/87 scale stuff (much as I'd love to have a bunch) really works much better with maybe a squad of gears per side.

Why do they keep repackaging the same sculpts over and over again. Is there any real value being added?

Yes, the raise their prices with every switch….

They aren't just repacking. At least the Peace River troops have all been resculpted in the last year or so.

Still pricey as all hell, but there still aren't many sources for mecha that size. And as Khurasan has pointed out, if he sold through distribution channels like DP9 does, he'd have to double his retail prices to pay the bills.

for the price versus what you need to play a game, it is still one of the better price pointed games out there.

Quite a few of the models are resculpts.

The sculpts for the North and South GP squads are not new, maybe 10 years old now.

They just swapped the content to add Sidewinders and Tigers which were previously rare units and sold seperately. (Apparently, I am not the only one arguing it, because other DP9 oldbies are making the same point on their forum)

NuCoal are about 3 years old now.

I am not sure how new the PRDF are, but again DP9 likes to repackage stuff to confuse you in thinking its new.

Southern gears were just resculpted within the past year or two. The Northern gears in the new squad box appear to be resculpts, as well, since they have the new style ball and socket arms.
