I'm something of an obsessive collector of Minifigs and I can spend hours browsing through the old print catalogues. I've got three of them dating I think from the late 70s to the early 80s. Does anyone know how many different editions of the catalogues were produced? I know there is at least one I haven't been able to get hold of. There's a picture of it below:

That's the colour S Range catalogue. The price list in my one says 1972/3. There was an earlier black and white one I have scans of and an even ealier Minifigs 20mm/S Rabge catalogue from when S Range were first introduced which is shiny, black and white and foolscap. I don't know how many post S Range catalogues there were as I had/have no interested in the later figures. There was also a set of Miniature Figurines magazines, again from around 1972, which were A5 in size and each with a different coloured cover. There were at least 5 of these. |

The Minifigs magazines were excellent. I remember one painting guide for faces which totally changed the way I painted! Somewhere I have an old Minifigs catalogue with black and white photos of the 25mm ranges including the lovely 'Valley of the Four Winds' fantasy range. |

Sadly, I only have scans, so am very muddled on dates. Has anyone reading this ever seen a Crimean S range Sardinian figure? I wonder if they were ever produced or what they looked like? Please forgive a very gentle hijacking of your thread. |

@johnpreece Don't worry abut thread hijacking, I do it myself all the time. There are lots of Minifigs ranges I wonder about, like the 15mm Egypt 1798-1801 range and the D&D Female Elves and Evil Clerics that were listed in the catalogues but never saw the light of day (I'm pretty sure the latter were never put on the market but I would love to know if the figures were actually sculpted). |

There was a loose leaf version – possibly 71? or could be later 74!!! Got a couple of the leves lying around. The 72/73 one is the earliest complete one I have, but I have later ones going into (I think) the early 90s. |

Is the one linked by JimDuncanUK (thanks Jim) the last one that was produced? It's the last one that I know of. |

It's the last one I know of too. I don't think the new proprietors produced one when the company changed hands, prior to being acquired by Caliver.(Towards the end at Graham Road) |

Fascinating stuff for me. I love old catalogs and would really like to find one with the S range figures. Good to see that others have the same interest. |

Egads! I love old Minifigs as well. They were the first figures I collected. A friend of my father had a catalogue, with lots of black and white photos which occupies a kind mythical place in my memory. I envy you your catalogue of catalogues! Once I've finished building my 6mm armies I'd like to go back to Minifigs for a spell. Cheers Seb |

I used to have one from the early 90's – IIRC, it had a brown cover. |

That's part one of what I had forgotten was a series, the one I particularly remember is that detailing shading and highlights. |

Jim, I certainly remember that catalogue. I had it until a couple of years ago when I cleaned out my old magazines. I should have sold them! |

And that catalogue that Jim posted is mine! (Proud and smug face on) |
