No, this is in the right section. Some footage of Syrian fighters using some distinctly medieval means of munitions delivery:

Special forces still use crossbows so I'm not surprised.

As I have said before with all the hatred going on in the region, if they didn't have modern weapons they'd use sticks and stones … That being said, modern cross bows that may used on occasions by some Spec Ops have some advantages in certain stituations … But the Onager, etc. … is just a step backwards and appears to be an act of desperation, lack of supplies, etc. …

I seem to recall a tale of one US officer who was tired of the delay in getting mortar fire or air support when his humvees came under fire from up in the hills.

But his roommate was an engineering officer, and everyone knows that engineers issue C4 by the pallet, not the kg. So he and the engineer built a small catapult, mounted it on the back of a humvee, and loaded it with rucksacks full of C4.

Very shortly afterwards, there were no more attacks on American convoys…

I liked the last clip, where everyone seemed to be going 'Where is my Earth shattering Kabbom?' Notice the press photographer in blue helmet & flak jacket.
