My Father's Wisdom: It doesn't matter what the seller is asking, what matters is what the buyer is willing to pay. Tim |

You'll probably find that the seller is on vacation or something similar, so has inflated the price so that no-one buys the item (the 3 previous sales were for proper prices) As a seller, the last thing you want is a sale to go through when you're not around to get it posted (not many buyers pay attention to the 'on holiday' messages), as any negative feedback or open cases are black marks against you and it doesn't take many of those to see your account permanently closed by eBay. |

I simply don't believe they've sold two. |

I'll second the "on vacation" theory. He has a set of Tau armor for $475 USD, and the listing states msrp is $185. USD So unless he's really dumb . . . |

Free shipping is nothing to scoff at. |

Something's going on. The two sellers are different and are located in different areas of the US, one in Little Rock AR and the other in VA. Looking at all their listings you see that they're all priced the same ($400 or $475 USD) regardless of the product's MSRP. |

I think the person(s) has put a price on the items and said, "let's what we get!" And, if both are selling the items, then the price isn't too high. Face it, some people are willing and able to spend the money and will do so if they want it bad enough or is something they really want. I have gone into flea markets at game conventions and seen GW stuff market up way beyond the MSRP because the items are either no longer made or are now made in plastic and not metal. The usual response when questioning the price is simply "That is what they are going for on Ebay" |

and I tried to sell a painted Cadian Platoon – with metal command squad, 100 infantry and 9 heavy weapons teams for £100.00 GBP and no luck :-( |

I simply don't believe they've sold two. Check the history. They went for $25 USD each. Maybe it should have been $40 USD? |

The interest and perceived value of ANY particular GW faction and composition within that faction ebbs and flows with new rule sets, FAQ's and the, "meta-list-of-the-month." A paint commission I did about a year ago with a FAST 2wk deadline was a particular players "tourney-army." He was telling me he still have another 1,500pts in addition to that he was going to have me paint in the same scheme. A new FAQ later, not only did I no longer have the rest of the commission, he sells what he has because it just cannot compete at the level at which he likes to play. Value is wildly subjective! |

I like this line: I have many other 40K items not listed on eBay. Contact me if you need anything else that you don't see listed. Violate eBay policy much? |

"I know GW prices are high…" No top grade Vegas hookers prices are high … GW's prices are just ridiculous ! |

Just in case people still believed in the whole "rational market pricing" stuff they tried to teach you in school ;) The visible hand of GW is much heavier than what economists call "the invisible hand of the market" :) |
