Well, first, my sound-challenged video is here: YouTube link In the end, the carpets did a bit to diminish the sound cloud, but it still felt like being inside a jet engine at times. There were quite a few hoarse GMs in my hearing. I really do love this event… Best, Jim "Cyrano" :/7) |

Wow! The background noise is still very noticeable; especially as you moved from a room into the hall area. Nice video though |

Noise was difficult in the main gaming hall but the carpet and drapes did a noticeable job of aiding in tamping down the volume. I was still horse after three days of game mastering but found it was not as bad the first year we were at the FCC. Kudos to the convention staff and the FCC staff. Thanks for the video Jim. |

I ran a game in the main hall. The noise level improved vastly over the last few years. I didn't even lose my voice. |

I ran 5 games in the main hall this year, and roughly the same in 2012 and 2013. Still noisy, but a very noticeable improvement from 2013. In 2012,the noise level was really quite terrible – I and all of my group had a headache and actual tinnitis (ringing in the ears)by Saturday night from the extreme noise level. |

Cant really hear the narration over the background music. the rugs cost $6,600 USD, that was for half the hall. |

Interesting. Thanks for posting. Anyone know what that Napoleonics game with the hexes was? |

I do indeed. That's Glen Drover's (former owner/operator of Eagle Games) adaptation of the C&C Ancients rules to Napoleonics. He's got really lovely sets for Borodino, Waterloo, and, in this case, Leipzig. It's now my preferred way of playing Napoleonics at conventions. We managed Leipzig with hundreds of figures, eight players, and a fair amount of terrain in less than 3.5 hours with a reasonably satisfying conclusion. It's worth mentioned that it's not C&C:Napoleonics as iterated by Mssr. Borg. Among other things, it does away with the "left-center-right" mechanic in favor of basing activation primarily on leaders. Glenn's figures are always lovely and his choice of 10mm terrain and Hotz 5'' maps was also inspired. Best, Jim "Cyrano" :/7) |
