My wife made a first effort at painting miniatures this past weekend and I'm flabbergasted. Her finished product is on my blog:

Even if she isn't a better painter, tell her she is.
It works out better in the long run.

Fantastic work

Does she take commissions?

Your wife does excellent work!

My wife isn't interested in painting miniature figures or in gaming in general. However, because of a watercolor sketch and the creativity of her doodles, I suspect she has some untapped artistic talent. I guess she'll never know until she tries. It would be pure heaven to work on miniature armies with her, but it will almost certainly never happen.

Again, your wife's painting is truly admirable!

I get my wife to paint horses and bases, but not figures. She does nice work!
Maybe she is just better at details, or has better eyesight?

A former workmate in the RPG store I work in once had thsi theory why girlfriends tended to be better painters than the guys. Even with their early attempts they tended to outshine their boyfriends who were old hands.

My workmate felt that this was due to the fact that girls were more apt because of fidddling with makeup etc.

Dunno if thsi is the case

Really nicely done!

It could be the makeup thing. I hadn't thought of that

Set a bowl of Pad Thai noodles with shrimp or chicken on the painting table, accompanied with a cuppa Thai tea, and she will find herself drawn to paint. Now I'm hungry.

I think that's more likely to entice me to paint!!
