I live the US Southeast, and from now until November humidity will render it impossible to use spray sealant (trust me, I've tried, it fogs up every time). I'd prefer something that comes in fairly large bottles/pots, since my wife will no doubt use it seal some rather large paintings of hers.
Does anyone care to recommend a brush on a (matte) sealer/clear coat?

I think my buddy uses Golden brand Acrylic Matte Varnish and cuts it half with water. It's available at artist supply store. He mixes it in random containers and gives it to me. I usually give a couple of coats and as well as being a sealer, it takes away the "dip" shine for the minis that I use minwax on. It's also really easy to cleanup.

I assume that you could probably use any acrylic matte brush-on sealer from an art shop and be fine.

I use liquid Testors Dullcote when I can't spray aerosol Dullcote outside due to humidity. Haven't had any problems with it. Doesn't come in large bottles that I know of though.

You could also use Liquidtex clear matte sealer. Should be available from Michael's, Hobby Lobby, or an art supply store.

NOTE: I've not tried this so I can say how "matte" the finish actually is.

After some-one on TMP recommended Winsor & Newton Galeria Acrylic Matt Varnish I thought I'd give it a try.

I couldn't believe just how matt it dried, or how quickly.
