New 1/72nd First to Fight French Renault FT17 light tank has arrived from Poland and is now available in the Plastic Soldier Company webstore (in Featured Products and WW2 French category), £7.99 GBP or a 3 tank deal for £19.00 GBP :-

Arguably the world's first modern tank; used by the French and Americans in 1917/18 and by Poland and France in WW2. Over 600 were pressed into German service, mainly for airfield defence, training, anti partisan duties and general occupation duties.

Did not know it was still used by the French in 1940 – that makes this a welcome addition to your 1/72nd stable…

Are they any more detailed than those offered by HAT ?

Bill N18 Jul 2014 10:00 p.m. PST

I can't imagine they would be more detailed than RPM's. Hopefully they will be easier to assemble.

Turtle19 Jul 2014 2:13 a.m. PST

Heck, the Polish used them as part of a drasine unit for their armored trains.

Don't know how they compare with other models, but the assembly is quite easy – with the exception of the parts connecting the tracks to the hull at the front and those linking the "tail".
Otherwise, it's a pretty nice kit.

Oh, and this set contains only the Berliet turret with an Hotchkiss MG.

Jerries used some for anti partisan work well after 1940.
Rumanians used some against the Germans in Bucharest 1944.
