The "Almost" in the headline is quite a stretch, but these are some new plans to me.

This belongs in the Civil War group. Not Pulp.

"The last I looked Dear Editor in Chief had not appointed any Board Purity Censors".

That's correct.

RavenscraftCybernetics14 Jul 2014 2:24 p.m. PST

it would take pulp era technology to get that monstrocity off the ground.
no foul there.

Well if you look to the left, you can see that it was posted to the ACW board and then cross posted so that comments could be made. :-)

Needs more horsepower, more rotor diameter, less rotor height…

Needs more cowbell!

tsofian14 Jul 2014 6:30 p.m. PST

Everyone knows that by that point in the American Civil War the Confederacy was woefully short of cowbell. The Union blockade had strangled the supply of European cowbells. New Orleans had been the prewar center for cowbell production in the South and its early capitulation had robbed the Rebels of most of their indigenous cowbell manufacturing resources.

Rebelyell200614 Jul 2014 7:55 p.m. PST

That had some interesting ramifications for post-war Texas. Without those bells, the cattle became feral and uncontrollable, creating the famed longhorn cattle.

They had to melt down the cowbells in order to make cannons.

Servo300015 Jul 2014 6:42 a.m. PST

If I build a model of this, I will definitely NOT allow it to be used in any pulp games.
That would be wrong.

Rebelyell200615 Jul 2014 12:35 p.m. PST

Is time travel an aspect of Pulp gaming?

Ivan DBA15 Jul 2014 11:00 p.m. PST

No cowbells were harmed in the making of this thread.

Servo300016 Jul 2014 9:59 a.m. PST

Glad to see everyone's eschewed the obvious "South Will Rise Again" jokes.

For whom the (cow)bell tolls

Early morning writer17 Jul 2014 10:53 p.m. PST

Sometimes it would nice to have a cowbell – to whack certain folk on their virtual heads.

I liked the OP, cool.

Lion in the Stars17 Jul 2014 11:25 p.m. PST

I'm trained as an aircraft mechanic, and that keeps rearing it's ugly head when people post ideas towards flying contraptions.

Put a set of more modern-looking rotors instead of the Archimedean screws on it and I'd fly on the beast!
