Well, it stinks, but I will be away. We were hoping to go at the last minute, but unfortunately we can't. We have had a bunch of emails and people asking, so we thought we would post.

Sigh, Hopefully next year! Have Fun guys!

Too bad as I was hoping to pick up a few things from you at the convention. Ah well maybe next time and there is always mail order.

Once again, you leave us bereft, adrift in a sea of miniatures that lack Rebel. Oh the humanity!!! :)

DinOfBattle214 Jul 2014 1:36 p.m. PST

Wish you could be there Mike! Won't be the same without you and David there!

Grimmnar14 Jul 2014 4:15 p.m. PST

Heartbroken. :-(

Clearhorizon Miniatures won't be there either, we should have a party! Or, let's have our own con!

kallman14 Jul 2014 6:47 p.m. PST

Hmm…a 15 mm Science Fiction convention. Sounds a bit limited but could be fun. grin

Capt Flash15 Jul 2014 11:37 a.m. PST

Yup, host it at one of the convention centers in one of NYC airports…

SCI-FI 15 CON,

I like it! :D

It could be held in Minneapolis Minnesota even better

Maybe we can find an abandoned airship hanger…

infojunky17 Jul 2014 2:13 p.m. PST

A mid country Hub would be better, say Denver or Dallas, or some place actually in the US not just the East Coast…

Personal logo MrHarold Sponsoring Member of TMP17 Jul 2014 2:14 p.m. PST

Like Los Angeles?

infojunky17 Jul 2014 2:27 p.m. PST

Hell-A would be nice but I would settle for the middle somewhere….

grommet3717 Jul 2014 9:43 p.m. PST

This is an event I would like to attend.

So have it here in Portland!

Also, I second the "not-going-to-H'con" SALE idea.

Fritadas17 Jul 2014 10:47 p.m. PST

I'd go for Portland, OR, or anywhere on the east coast/midwest (spend a lot of time in Buffalo, been living in PDX for the last 5 years)

Bob Runnicles18 Jul 2014 5:50 a.m. PST

I second the motion from member nudspinespittle :)

War Monkey18 Jul 2014 7:56 a.m. PST

Mm mm Portland huh, I might be able to talk the wife into that one, provided we took the train, she likes the train ride from here to Portland, OR. ;D

grommet3718 Jul 2014 6:45 p.m. PST

Slightly OT: I'm hearing a groundswell for that sale. :)

More OT: OK, it's settled, Portland it is! 15mmSFcon!

Way OT: Wait, there are 15mm SF people in the PNW? League!

On Topic: Wait – there was a topic?

infojunky18 Jul 2014 6:51 p.m. PST

Like War Monkey Portland is a nice train ride from here….

Bonus with Portland is Powell's Books and Voodoo Donuts…

grommet3718 Jul 2014 9:56 p.m. PST

Way Way OT: For you folks using who live in PDX or a nice train ride away, what rules are you using?

Kinda on the other topic? Which 15mm SF makers are in the US? And what other 15mm SF attractions could be added to a convention? Combine with other (smaller) scales? With spaceship gaming? Is there a SFTTWG convention? I know little or nothing about this, but it sounds like a good idea. New thread?

Anyway, I would love to attend a con to meet Rebel Mike, because I have a lot of Rebel Minis (yet to be painted), and I want a lot more!

Grimmnar19 Jul 2014 6:37 a.m. PST

Mike,

Just wanted you to know I am standing right where you and Dave should be standing right now. :-(

BlackWidowPilot Fezian19 Jul 2014 11:35 a.m. PST

Grommet,

15mm manufacturers in the US off the top of my head include Khurasan Miniatures, Combat Wombat, Rebel Minis, Ravenstar Studios, Darkest Star Miniatures, and of course such a convention might also draw purveyors of plastic and resin sci fi model kits suitable for adaptation to the 15mm sci fi battlefield…

Then there's various publishers of rules such as Tomorrow's War (which includes 15mm sci fi figures specific for the Tomorrow's War setting manufactured by GZG), Two Hour Wargames, et al.

RebelMIke,

I hope you and David are happy. You both made my GF cry. Maybe it was just you, not really sure. The GF caught up with me later in the day and we walked into the Dealer Hall. First question she asked me was "Where is Princess Tiara's stand at?" Nope, not the bathroom, or where the turkey legs were, or where she could hide form all the rude men. Nope she wanted to know where Princess Tiara was. You should have seen the look in her eye when i said you all couldn't make it this time around. I think it just broke her spirit. I think i have a few ways you all can make it up to her. :-)
