Has anyone thought of using the tanks from the latest All Quiet on the Martian Front line for the "barrels" of harry Turtledove's Great War series? I am not sure if the smokestacks would be era appropriate but they might be a way to fight out the WW1 in the US with "not quite" WW1 tanks.

Of course if the South has tripods all bets are off . . .

That's a thought! I didn't like that particular series by Turtledove – far too many characters, too much switching back and forth between them… But the aligning of the North with Germany, and the South with the UK, made for an interesting scenario.

Good opportunity to paint tanks in colours others than olive drab, too! ;)
