It was a bit like "Black Hawk Down" in terms of the fighting. Think of all that fine beef which Britain lost.

I read an autobiography by a Scottish soldier, perhaps of the 71st, who was involved in the attack. I don't know if it was in his memoirs or if I'm mixing them up with another, but a tavern cry in London, for some time afterwards, was mentioned. Does anyone remember what it was? Something like ??? for ??? but three cheers for white locks.

There are here many memories of British (mostly Irish) soliders who decided to remain in Argentina.

All of them ended with good money working the land.
