Hello gamers and painters.

I'm starting a blog or two, and I'm looking for recommendations for a photo hosting site. I'd also like one that works well with TMP, since I'll be cross-posting the occasional pic here, as well.

I have little context to compare the alternatives. I may start a WordPress blog as well as a Blogger site, so a service that works well with both of those would be nice.

So, what do you recommend? photobucket? flickr? other?

Cross-Posted to 15mm SF because I'd like to know what folks who frequent that board would recommend, in particular.

I use photobucket.

I HATE Photobucket ! troll I get knocked off very, very frequently when my MSN protection software, sends a message, they are shutting down to prevent infection by malware, virus, etc. … So if I'm trying to upload a number of photos, I have to go back online, go back to my Photobucket, and start where I left off. Takes forever to load 6-8 photos … So IMO, it is a minefield of virus/malware, pop-ups, etc. … at least that's what the MSN message always says … And there is no link any more to contact them and tell them … I've looked and looked on site and thru my search engine … No joy … troll They suck !

Imgur, for my money. You could also use Dropbox, and set the photos to public.

dmebust09 Jul 2014 1:40 p.m. PST

I like Flicker

Two for photobucket, one for not photobucket, one for imgur, and one for flickr. 8)

Gonna need a larger random sampling, but so far the consensus seems to be "find one that you like". ;)

Like so many things in life. Alright I will.

Thanks, as always, and Cheers, my friends.

I use Photobucket as well, and find it to be more user friendly for viewers than Flicker.

I use My Battletech media server only $5 USD for 1GB per month, its very user friendly and i don't recall ever having any issues hosting my pics from the site. Its not very well known about hosting site as its an off branch of Battletech Universe so mostly only Battletech gamers use it.

I use Picasaweb: picasaweb.google.com

It's a branch on the Google tree, so it integrates very well with Blogger, as well as Google+ and Gmail.

I used to use photobucket until one day when I logged in and all my stuff was gone. Now I use Flickr, you get a terabyte of storage free.

Thanks for the Picasa tip, seems like a good start.

Cheers.

Get your own domain name and web space. You can do what you want with it then.

comstarhpg12 Jul 2014 10:55 a.m. PST

Hi L4

It was very …. well frustrating :( couldn't upload pictures most of the time and like you I lost all my pictures bar one which would not link properly :(
Like you I switched but the other way round!

Possessed website yeah I go with that!

@ grommet37 didn't want to confuse issue as I think everyone has there favourite site a one they possibly hate! Hope all goes well in hosting land and can't wait till you start blogging :)

Cheers Matt

I just got knocked off twice a few minutes ago from PhotoSuckIt … I mean Photobucket ! huh?

thehawk14 Jul 2014 6:13 a.m. PST

Check how long they will keep your pictures for.

Angel Barracks14 Jul 2014 11:13 a.m. PST

Photobucket has hosted my images for years.
Never had any issues either…

grommet3716 Jul 2014 11:23 a.m. PST

I think I'll go with Picasaweb for the BlogSpot blog and Photobucket for the Wordpress blog. Of course, so far I've just posted images directly to the blog, so I haven't needed it. We'll see how it works when and if I actually use image hosting.

Thanks again for the benefit of your experience. Cheers.
