It's a terrain expansion for Heroscape, but will non-Heroscape gamers be attracted by the trees?

I finally have some hobby time, so I bought a couple of these tables from Home Depot the other day.

Here's my takeaway: INSPECT THEM THOROUGHLY! They are probably damaged (of the dozen or so in the store, they were ALL damaged to some extent). They are shipped in a single-wall box of like 8 or 12, too heavy for one person to handle with care. I bought 2 and the nice lady in the store gave me 20% off, since I brought the first two back, and waited while they tried in vain to find any that weren't cracked, dinged, dented, bent, broken or ruined. Ask for a discount.

For what they are, they aren't terrible. They will make convenient modules for my two-foot-by-four-foot-chunks-super-table mega-project: Concordia Corners.

They're listed at forty bucks, so $8 USD per off wasn't a screaming bargain, and I could've gotten bigger cheaper, but I'm very enamored of the 2' X 4' modules idea.

Here's a link.

I'd post pics of mine, but really, why? They'll make many cloaked appearances in subsequent posts. Caveat emptor! Cheap table is cheap only not so cheap. Cheers and happy cheap-ish gaming, my friends.

Huh…

I've never found those resin table tops to be that fragile. I own a couple, but use them for planting tables outside. I never really considered them for modelling or gaming tables since they lack any appreciable heft.

Good luck with your purchase!

I use the 2.5'x5' folding tables from Target. They often are on sale for $30. USD IIRC last week they were on sale below that. I have three of them. Those work great.

I guess if you really must have the 2'x4' dimensions then you have little choice. The poor quality is a major detractor.

Does Lowes sell 2x4 tables?

Heck, I bet you could get a pair of folding legs and bolt it to a sheet of 1/2 OSB for less than $40 USD (or close to it)

Hey grommet37.

I wonder if it's your store? I've bought 7 or so and they have all been fine…
