As the photo description notes, the public humiliation of female "collaborators" in liberated France turned into a witch hunt. While many women willingly collaborated with the Germans in return for better treatment, many others had no choice in the matter, and still others were accused and punished with no evidence. From what I've read, many grudges were settled that way.

Yes, its odd how people get upset when you sleep with the enemy. As for having 'no choice' I don't recall reading how the Germans rounded up women and forced them to become 'comfort women' the way the Japanese did to the Koreans.

I don't recall reading how the Germans rounded up women and forced them to become 'comfort women' Seems you haven't done much reading at all, then Thank you, AcrylicNick, you saved me from having to post that link. Not to mention those girls and women who "chose" to sleep with German officers who could have had entire families shot or sent to camps. And then there are the cases of outright rape.
