Your painting station is way to clean, how do you keep it so clean? I'm down to about a 5 inch square, I really need to take a month or two and clean up my painting station. Are you sure you paint their, I didn't see any spills! |

For July I have about 300 15mm ACW guys, about 2500 pts of PHR, 2 8th army 25 pdr batteries (plus a few other 8th army items), 60 28mm WSS Spanish, 10 15mm Pontiac's war guys and I'd like to get another battalion of Carlist War French Foreign Legion guys as well as three Infinity figures and a big PHR dropship done for myself. |

@oldbob – Made myself more disciplined. Also has had a good tidy for the pic haha. But keep drincks off it now after several 'incidents'. Also made it myself so take more care. Here is a wider view showing the whole thing. Its a bit more cluttered at the moment though. But have a set of plastic drawers off to left keep all projects in. Wow Jaime that's a mega list. Seriously impressed
respect. Full time? or just flippin' quick. Stew |

How do you manage to paint multiple figures, like the Republican Romans,on the bases? I have to spread mine out so I can get the brush into the fiddly bits. Must save a lot of time to do it like you do. |

I almost never paint figures individually. It does save a ton of time putting them on painting sticks. I'm not doing painting full time at the moment, I'll be back at it in October when Bushy Run closes for the season though. |

Scott; How did I miss Bushy Run when I was there? Shame on me! |

My late friend turned me on to painting figures already on their permanent bases, multiple figures per base – sure, there might be a missed spot or two hiding in there (I've switched to using a red oxide primer – a rich brown color – so not very noticeable) but the massed effect is the goal. That and saving a TON of time and when you have as many figures to get painted as I do, time is huge. And, as is well known amongst veteran gamers, just having painted figures (even barely average) on flocked bases (simple flock, not fancy) really heightens the effect. Alas, my own painting table needs a good cleaning – and the construction project immediately above which will hold the lights completed. Then I can get back into serious production. Hopefully. So, thanks for sharing and giving me some inspiration to get back to it! |

@steamingdave47 – I don't always paint figures on multiple bases. These Romans are for my own army and are being painted with a brushed on dip (Not Army Painter toooo expensive but £1.00 GBP tins from local What! shop, water soluble plus flow enhancer). So I am only doing mainly one block colour anyway. But then are in single rank multiple not blocks so I can still get to the details. You can see this on my hastati here. I often like to do base and get it undercoated at the same time just makes life easier sometimes. Depends on figures and method to paint. My 28mm Napoleonics will be done on temporary strip or individually like the Indians on the poker chip holders. @OldGrenadier – Probably so clean as think all the splashes tend to go on my hands instead. Also keeps better half happy and keeps me my permenant space lol Early morning writer – Its a pleasure to share and if inspired you I am chuffed and pleased. I have been there before not painting and not having drive to. But when it comes back then its a great feeling. Really back into it myself now and been reading heavily around places like Chest of Colours and Massive Voodoo for new techniques and refreshing others. I have some 40mm Old Glory AWI British in my hands now (Part of Penarth Club project) so really want to push the boat out on these as they are close as you get to wargaming porn haha. Wow that was long. Love chatting to fellow painters and wargamers. Stew warpaintfigures.com |

Afghan Wars Indian Infantry complete now: TMP link Just need to finish them on their display base for John now. But ahd a total distraction land in my lap – 40mm Front Rank AWI infantry. Part of a club (Penarth & District Wargames Society) project we are doing. They are gorgeous and my first 18 are going to be one of the combined Guards battalions. The agony of choices!
