" This highly stylized and intense sf action movie is set in a near future when water has become the most precious and dwindling resource on the planet, one that dictates everything from the macro of political policy to the detailed micro of family and romantic relationships. The hardened survivors of the loss of Earth's precious. resources scrape and struggle. Ernest Holm (Michael Shannon) lives on this harsh frontier with his children, Jerome (Kodi Smit-McPhee) and Mary (Elle Fanning). He defends his farm from bandits, works the supply routes, and hopes to rejuvenate the soil. But Mary's boyfriend (Nicholas Hoult), has grander designs. He wants Ernest's land for himself, and will go to any length to get it"

Sounds like a Western. I'll certainly see it.

I read the thread head and thought it was referring to these chaps

Ah well – peace, love and vegetable rights

It does sound good but I, too, thought of Neal, Rick, Mike and Vivian.

Me 4. A reimagining of the Young Ones would be… interesting?

Sounds pretty neat! The setting is similar to "Interstellar," the forthcoming sci-fi movie from Christopher Nolan. It's also set on an agriculturally exhausted Earth with few resources left.

Looks like it will end up pushing a certain agenda.

So not going to see it.

Plus if there no water how is everyone surviving?
