Valiant Miniatures have been working hard to address that old problem of how do you convert an intact building into a ruin during the course of a game. The pictures below show Paul Turner's master of our first model that will address this challenge. It will be a hard plastic model based on a NW European detached house with optional parts to convert it into a shop, vary the position/numbers of shutters, add a dormer and more.
Tooling of the detailed model is well advanced and we hope to see the detailed model in plastic in the next two weeks. For updates on progress visit valiantminiatures.com |

Miniature Building Authority brand of 15mm and 28mm buildings have been doing this type of thing for years! |

Real 1/72 or Valiant 1/72? |

valiant figures are NOT 1/72 scale. I'm gunna assume their building is not either. |

Yes, Miniature Building Authority HAVE been doing this for years, have a decent assortment, and come pre-painted. But, in my search for picturesque and authentic Normandy architecture for 15mm I have just come across some other makes, some of which make convertible models to damaged, or have damaged versions of identical intact versions, and then I've just come across the the best sculpted undamaged and damaged Normandy buildings of all with truly interesting designs, not just a different rectangular box as so many are. That company is found at this link since it's all in French I really can't tell what their name is. link Then, there is Mark IV Miniatures (resin), link Total Battle Miniatures (resin), Plast Craft Games (PVC), Najewitz Modellbau (laser engraved and cut plastic), link and, Battlefield Accessories (resin) link and of course there's 4Ground Ltd.(laser-cut MDF), Crecent Root Studios (resin), and Hovels (resin) all with beautiful models in 15mm. Some of these companies also do 1/72 . . . |

PeterPigs Normandy range is excellent for, well, 15mm in Normandy, but listing all the other manufacturers that do similar models in other scales is not a lot to do with Valiant and their new buildings. Which I have to say is rather nice as far as I can tell, and so far, other than the Italeri ones, unique as it is in plastic. As for not being 1\72 I cant comment on the infantry – that particular subject has been well chewed over, but what that has to do with the buildings seems irrelevant – unless it is a specific building it seems to me scale is not an issue – doors and windows didn't become a regular size until quite recently, so whether it is 1/72, 20mm or 23mm or 25mm or whatever, why the vitriol? Looks good – more please! |

I have had buildings from the first chap, they probably suit 15mm more than 20mm but that being said will work quite well with AB figures. The amount of detail in unbelievable and very time consuming to paint, I have shunted them to the retirement painting queue along with the Airfix buildings which are nice but also suit 15's more than 20's IMHO |
