Another new tank added to my Blitzkrieg period of vehicles the A9 cruiser another one of my favourites, mind you whenever I bring out a new vehicle its always my favourite until the next one, far too fickle but that's me all over.

A great looking tank! I need exactly 1 for for my RapidFire cruiser regiment.

Bristling with machine guns and sported the mighty 2 pounder, it was one of those great "inter-war" tanks and was accepted into service. The armor was its weakness as it could do no more than deflect spitballs at long range.

Still, a very cool looking tank.

Someone thought it was a good idea at the time. In fairness, competitors at that time included Pz I, Pz II, L3/33, T26 etc… conpared to those it was a giant of its kind.

I'd much rather game with these than King Tigers anyday -great model.

<ahem> THAT is a very sharply painted char legere Hotchkiss *H39*, *not* the earlier Hotchkiss H35. The dead giveaways are the level (and distinctly larger) engine compartment deck and the rearward pointing exhaust muffler.

If you're needing chars legere for your DCR, then you need the H38/39. If you're needing chars legere for your DLM or DLC formations, you need/want the earlier H35. So that is why I am holding out for a reliable sourcing for a decently rendered *H35* in 1/72 scale that won't break my piggybank, as I already have plenty of RAFM H38/39s (enough for a whole company in fact!)… Besides, you just can't beat those seven color camo schemes on the H35… Seriously.evil grin

Thanks for your comments guys, well chuffed with the A9. Just spoken with Tank man and the H35 is threeish weeks away, so if you can just hold the Grey hoard back a little bit longer.
Couple more Russian bits coming in same box

spontoon06 Jul 2014 11:36 a.m. PST

I believe you mean " horde" not "hoard"?

Lancer5809 Jul 2014 4:11 a.m. PST

Yep horde is correct, but I am lying in a hospital bed at the moment, with morphine being pumped directly into my vein, so think you should let me off this time

Murvihill09 Jul 2014 9:46 a.m. PST

I hoard my tanks…

Lancer, you just get well, and not worry about the Grammar MPs.

Great news about the H35. Looking forward to it.evil grin

Lancer 58;

Let you off! I'm jealous! I had the same situation 3 yrs. ago. Wonderful stuff. Wonder why they give it to you, THEN bring the organ donation forms!

To all;

Do these models lean towards Airfix scale or Hasegawa scale?

ridgeback12314 Jul 2014 4:00 a.m. PST

"Do these models lean towards Airfix scale"
That's a hard question to answerer as some Airfix kits are 1/76 & others are 1/72?

Well, in that case do they lean towards Frontline or Raventhorpe?

Lancer5819 Jul 2014 12:06 a.m. PST

sorry been ignoring lots of things, don't have frontline or raventhorpe to measure against not even an Airfix or Hasegawa how rubbish am I. But when I commissioned the tank I asked for 1/72 and don't have any reason to doubt it. Hope that has been of some help.
And yes your dead right Ian airfix were all over the place with there scales.

Thanks, guys! I may have to buy one and compare!
