Very nice review.
Anybody have an idea when the book will ship?

clifblkskull30 Jun 2014 7:25 a.m. PST

Thanks so much!

According to the author (on the studio tomahawk forum), the final text of book was to be sent to the printer today.

So soonish?

skipper John30 Jun 2014 7:56 a.m. PST

Pre-ordered mine yesterday.

I enjoyed the review. Based on it, I will have to get the game. I have played regular Saga a few times but the Crusades are really my era. I already have a considerable amount of early 13th century Spanish painted. "In Spain, we are always on Crusade!"

Ran The Cid30 Jun 2014 10:39 a.m. PST

AoW replied that they will have it ready for sale by late July/early August. Time to get my order ready!

Ivan DBA30 Jun 2014 11:28 a.m. PST

Great review. I'm not sure if I will get any Crusades-era warbands, but I'll probably pick this up just for the clarified rules.

HANS GRUBER30 Jun 2014 1:03 p.m. PST

The factions are:

Crusaders
Saracens
Milites Christi
Mutatawwi
Spanish
Moors

I wonder if the Saracens are suppose to represent the Fatamids, the Seljuks, and the various dynasties of Syria and Iraq?

And just out of curiosity – every time I go on the Studio Tomahawk Forum I get an internet explorer error. Do other people have this problem?

Sir Walter Rlyeh30 Jun 2014 1:43 p.m. PST

Just a guess that the Saracens are the generic Islamic faction like the Crusaders are the generic Franks.

I suspect Spanish and Moorish factions have a lot of across the isle allies.

Mirosav30 Jun 2014 2:33 p.m. PST

Anyone know details of the factions? I'd like to pick one and start collecting figures at Historicon.

'…a few small typo's…' :-)

sneakgun30 Jun 2014 6:42 p.m. PST

I did the same as Skipper John, preordered book and dice.

nochules01 Jul 2014 4:05 a.m. PST

@Miroslav- They are previewing some of the factions at Studio Tomahawk's blog.
blog.studio-tomahawk.com

@Henry Martini- The review was of a pre-release proof, so hopefully those will get fixed before the final print run.

kallman01 Jul 2014 5:40 a.m. PST

I have my figures crossed that the rules and dice will be at Historicon most likely being carried by Architects of War. Here is hoping.

Billy Yank01 Jul 2014 5:59 a.m. PST

So, just to be clear, if I buy this rule set, I would ALSO get all the previous SAGA stuff as well?

No, I think you'll get all of the rules but not the dark ages battle boards and faction rules.

Do you get any dice with this rule book, or do you have to buy them separately?

Sir Walter Rlyeh01 Jul 2014 1:30 p.m. PST

Thanks for the link, nochules. Apparently, the Mutatawwi battle board includes the Almoravids! They even get a special character. Coolness! Break out the black paint and watch El Cid.

coopman01 Jul 2014 6:36 p.m. PST

No dice with the rulebook. Nor do you get the battle boards for anything but the 6 Crusades era factions. But at least this is a stand-alone rulebook.
