I ordered paved felt highways from Hotz Artworks on 3/26 and the highways still haven't been delivered. I emailed the guy three times and no response. Has anyone else had any luck contacting Hotz Artworks or had problems receiving a shipment?

I think it runs in the business vein:-(
I had a similar response from Corsec Engineering.
My mats aren't as late as your stuff, but the only response I got was when I went to the facebook page and put something on their wall.
I was going to go to Hotz Mats originally and decided not too due to reading about past experiences.
People can say that so and so is a small one man organization, but replying to emails can and should be done.
Best of luck to you.
Joe

He's sometimes early, usually late, but I always get my orders.

Very satisfied customer.

Don't sweat it (too much), your stuff will arrive, just keep bugging him.

Or contact paypal immediately and try to get a refund going. No communication and no shipment is par for the course.

Mine arrived almost exactly at the maximum # of weeks noted on his site. The stuff is very nice when you get it.

I ordered two sets of his field mats, received a confirmation email, and got the goodies in roughly three weeks from the time the order was placed. I can't complain, but I know dealing with Hotz can be stressful.

He's a roll of the dice these days. I ordered two different things. The felt fields came quick and looked great, but the $80 USD game mat did not arrive. My e-mails to Hotz about the mat were not responded to. I spent too long trying to work it out with Hotz, so Pay Pal won't reimburse me.

I don't think I'm going to risk my money on Hotz anymore.

I've read similar on forums, a disappearer.

Although it took a while, I finally received my order.

Eric will eventually come through and deliver the goods.

Been waiting since April 21, 2013 for a set of felt rivers! Wouldn't waste time or money on Hotz again.

Martin27 Jun 2014 6:44 a.m. PST

Been waiting almost two weeks for a quote on a custom mat.

I sent him an email once for a custom mat. When he didn't respond to that, damned if I would give him any money!

Not a chance.

Wargamer Blue27 Jun 2014 4:15 p.m. PST

Martin, I have been waiting two years for my quote.

I was in Imperial Hobbies in Vancouver BC on 21 June and saw a supply of various Hotz products on more than one shelf.

Perhaps try contacting them and verifying if they have what you need? They offer mail order.

If this thread gets long enough he will come around to tell us he works 20 hours per day and has had a series of personal tragedies that prevent him from communicating or completing orders in a timely matter. I think this has been his MO for the last ten years.

wrgmr129 Jun 2014 1:36 p.m. PST

Eric has had a lot of family issues to deal with, he does get back to you and deliver.

ThePeninsularWarin15mm01 Jul 2014 7:10 p.m. PST

@Caesar,

Yes, and we've heard that line many times before. He can't be bothered to put out a notice in advance so people know what to expect. Still waiting for my order… I know others who have waited a very long time with nothing to show.

Just as an epilogue: I got my shipment from Hotz last week. The stuff was good and I was happy with the product. It took about four months to get it. As a leap of faith, I just took the advice of some on this thread and sent a few reminder emails.

I don't know what personal issues the owner is dealing with but they are what they are. If you want to order stuff from him, I would just do so with the expectation that you won't get your stuff for three of four months. Kind of like a mini Kickstarter project. There won't be any surprises or disappointment this way.
