Printing Scenario Maps with Poster Software

You've got a scenario map, and you need to create some hills. Is there some way to just print out the map in very large scale, so you can trace the outline of the hills you need to build? The Editor finds out...

I am almost ready to begin this game after 3 monthes of painting. But I had to make a map to organize the table, since it is of Epic size.

Thanks for looking

Wow – That's a huge amount of great looking work! I think removing the urban buildings may have been a mistake – this is an urban siege, so the buildings would have been appropriate, IMHO.

Will this be a solo game?

Really like this project. Way back when, I was painting up my WFB High Elves as the various Houses of Gondolin as described in the Book of Lost Tales, so watching you pull this together is very fun. :)

Gondolin + "finishing the extra 460 orcs" = awesome.

oh very cool

Centurian,
Yea, I was thinking about putting a few of them back, I removed them mainly so I could have room for battle inside the walls. I will put a few back when I begin the long task of putting units in place.

And yes, its a solo game. I will be using a host of home made rules using ideas from various (many) rule books, that make the game challenging and fun. I play test a lot of ideas I have, and some workout better than others.

Being a solo game, I plan on using large movements, with fast combat results, since I have so many units. But use different rules for one on one combat, etc.

I made the map using tools I use at work all day long.

darthfozzywig,

I forgot to add, I also bought about 350 (very nicely painted) or so, (I lost track) various High Elves before I started painting orcs, and then I realized the Elves outnumbered the Orcs…so I bought more and more and more….60 left to go, and they are in the mail today. I don't even want to say how much I spent to play this game….too much.

I will be playing the game slightly different from the very short story in the Tolkien books. I place the Valley guard on the table, and most like will try to free one of the gates from the Orcs, and possibly allow Elves inside Gondolin to take to the field. I am only using one Dragon, that can be killed, but very very hard to kill. But that is just an idea, mainly an objective for one side, while the Orcs will have the obvious objective of taking and destroying Gondolin. And then ofcourse that will lead to city fighting.

I would pay money to participate in a game that looked as good as that!
Truly amazing work.

Hi Tom,

I like the dragon idea! What about the balrog(s)?

I wonder: Since giant spiders seem to have been common near Gondolin, would these also have taken part in the attack on the city?

darclegion01 Jul 2014 6:44 a.m. PST

Oh, yes and a Balrog, that I have as well…forgot that. And I have no large spiders, so no spiders in the game.

Tom

And thank you to all. Right now the table is a mess, I have been painting for 3 monthes to add to the table. About 800 plus orcs now…painting the last 60 now. I am burned out painting.

I cant wait to start the game and relax.
