Its a shame that while they have some nice modern art for their book, that RAMF is just recycling their old fantasy models for their KS

I dont care how cheaper it is to buy them or that they're "classic", I think I'd take more modern approaches than these aged sculpts.

I didnt buy them in the 80's either. With a few exceptions I never really cared for their fantasy figures stylistically.

I like them, to each their own.

I like the undead but I'm afraid they will turn out like crap when made from Reaper's Bones material. All the other Bones figures with thin parts are terrible. Here is a metal war wagon I did. I'm happy with the sculpting.

I have to agree with the OP. It is hard to believe there will be enough demand out there for these.

Caesar25 Jun 2014 7:04 p.m. PST

In this case KS will show if there is demand…

No wonder the skeleton on the top right looks odd, he has the skull of an orangutan!

Honestly, I dont see why RAMF is bothering with making these old relics plastic. Mind as well just sell the old metal models to save money, and concentrate on making the rulebook or use the funds to make new sculpts (even metal ones).

RAFM

I was very disappointed in the first RAFM Call of Cthulhu crowd funding venture. For $100 USD I ended up with a few new monster models I really like, a dozen investigator figures too big to fit in with the previous humans, and a bunch of old monster castings RAFM had lying around unsellable in storage which I had already purchased and painted 20 years ago.

Didn't participate in the second CoC crowdfunding.

Spot on about the orangutang skull! It looks like every member of that skeleton band came from a different species.

However, I do like the reptiliads and some of the monsters. Instead of big armies of human(oid) sculpts of varying quality, it might have been better had rafm focused on its more individual and interesting big figures, which were generally of higher sculpting quality, more akin to their cthulhu stuff.

I for one would like to get this lich lord with a russian pumpkin on his head:

and these war newts:

Agree, some lovely figures.

And what's wrong with that? Necromancers should be allowed to mix and match parts at least as much as your average 1930's paleontologist, and they certainly don't need to be selective about which remains they choose to reanimate. :)

As for pumpkin-hat, he's only $6.95 USD in metal off their site right now. If the Reaper Bones figs are any indicator, I doubt he'd be much (if any) cheaper in plastic.

Rafm, has always been one of my favorite company's to deal with I really hope they make their reptiliads part of this.

I wish they'd re-release their Traveller Spaceship range.

They still play like little toy soldiers!

I've been thinking that they'd have done better to kick start the book as the base level and made plastic a stretch goal. That would have let them run at a lower funding goal and they could have sold metal figures in the sets if the goal wasn't met. Of course they'd need to avoid giving away lots of metal sets so the one of everything would need to be a stretch goal that came after the plastic.

I'd like to see them fund it. The figures are pretty chunky so they should look better than the Reaper stuff which often has very fine detail. Even so, I have to admit a preference for metal or hard styrene.

I'd also like to see the rules in a free pdf so people know what they're getting.

The old school style is just part of the line's charm. Alternative Armies and EM4's Space Lords are also clunky and yet do well enough with their fan base.
