Hello I bought a whole bunch of Battle Honours 15mm French Line Infantry in the 1812-1815 Full Dress uniforms and I realized that I would like to have some variety in my troops and so I am going to buy some other miniatures in campaign dress, greatcoat and from other manufacturers.

My question is what other troops could I use the extra French miniatures for. Based on what I know I think they could be used for:

- Saxons
- Westphalians
- Swiss
- Confederation of the Rhine
- Neapolitan
- Italians (I think the Kingdom of Italy used the 1809 French uniforms all the way through the war).

Let me know if I am wrong in any of the above, thanks for your help.

Correct in the essentials, at 15mm scale, although of course not all the Confederation states wore French style uniforms…

Also:

Battalion Neufchatel (yellow coats)
The French Regiments Etranger
- Irish Legion (green coats)
- Isembourg Regiment (middle/light blue coats)
- Hanoverian Legion (red coats)

There are still more!

You could sell them to raise funds for other figures.

I would make the run away. Like the rest of the French Army.

Calm down. Just foolin' about.

Send them to the Spanish front.

I didn't even see the offending remark.

Anyway my excess troops is only two units of 32 minis each so not really worth selling. I'll probably need them in the future anyway.

Can anyone comment on the Italians.

Thanks again for the ideas.

Hi JJ,

Yo are right, the Italians didn't adopt the Bardin-style uniforms so your figures wouldn't work for them. Some possibilities:

Hesse-Dramstadt: link

Swiss: link

Couldn't you also use at least some of them as status markers? 'convert' a few into wounded troops and you have the 'disruption' markers for LaSalle (or any other game that needs to show how many hits a unit has taken)
