Does anyone know the mix of static field bombards to wheeled bombards used in the War of the Roses field battles? I am looking for a reference to see if the majority of pieces were wheeled. I have some light bombards that are of a small caliber that should work fine. However, these are static pieces.

I am not thinking of siege guns etc.

Your thoughts would be appreciated.

I would be surprised if there were such a thing as a'typical' or 'standard' mix!

I would say all the artillery pieces used in field battles of the WOTR were on wheeled carriages. A "Bombard" is specifically a siege piece.

I actually use these with my 25/28mm WOTR armies (but replacing the crew figures).

I would also suggest that almost anything seen in a field battle by that time would be mounted on a wheeled carriage.

Static mounts would be too clumsy for field battles, though they would be useful for mounting large pieces for sieges.
